What’s Missing From the Rihanna Halftime Show/Pregnancy Conversation

Rihanna performing at the SuperBowl Halftime show is iconic in its own right, but why is barely anyone talking about this?

Rihanna Halftime show (dressed in LOEWE)

Everyone is talking about Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show performance and her sneaky pregnancy announcement, but there’s something that seems to be lost from the conversation. And no, its not the amazing choreography put together by the iconic Paris Goebel.

HER FIT. No one seems to be talking about what she’s wearing! I get it, lots of other hot topics happening in the discourse, but still.

Before I continue to bury the lead it seems that Rihanna was wearing head-to-toe, LOEWE. The brand said this about the look, “comprised of multiple layers and textures, the look’s bold red catsuit formed a sleek foundation in silk jersey, with a matching cotton canvas flight suit and a made-to-measure corset in sculpted leather.”

The look is a custom – meaning you can’t put this on your cart honey. LOEWE also mentions that their inspiration for the look came from “flight gear and the show’s dynamic scenography.”

Personally, my favorite pieces from Rihanna’s outfit were the sculpted leather breast plate. It reminded me of the pink Tom Ford breast plate Zendaya wore to the Critic’s Choice Award in 2020. It is very bold, elegant and modestly sexy in my opinion. The shiny, reflection from the plate added dimension to Rihanna’s entire look.

Additionally, I really loved her supposed tribute to Andre Leon Talley; a true fashion icon.

This tweet says that the two were close. I couldn’t confirm with a quick search if this is indeed Norma Kamali, but the two red puffer-like coats are very similar.
